Have you attached the little rubber gromets to the holder { they fit between the clear rubbers that stick to the windscreen}?
Have you tried playing with the contrast, i use mine at night and dont find it a problem.
I've had Laser alert a couple of times, both false alarms though..................

The Road Angel 2 is a product which suffers from a major advertising budget, which must put quite a substantial cost on each unit considering the national coverage it gets - but very poor product development. Why should the consumer find out the problems?

When I use it in my MX-5 it frequently loses magnetic contact with the bracket and drops off the dashboard! I can't use the alternative self adhesive pad fixing since the dashboard's too low.

It sometimes drops off the bracket when in the Fabia - and I've thought of using the self adhesive pad fixing here instead though presently use the suction cup bracket.

I've never had the laser function go off in around 10,000 miles of motoring.

It frequently reports "searching for satellites" when there should be no problem whatsoever - it's mounted right at the base of the windscreen so actual visibility shouldn't be an issue. It's often like that when I get back in the car after work when it's been sitting outside in the car park with the Road Angel turned on.

It seems curious that if you find a problem with the database there's no formal way of reporting it - when I asked how to tell them about a location that's never had a camera, they said send them an email with a description.

The school reporting function is hopelessly over sensitive.

The blackspot reporting function is hopelessly sporadic and unusable in any sensible nature.

I don't find it too bright at night.

I value it most for the accurate speedo and the clock! My MX-5 doesn't have a clock otherwise and the Fabia's is usually set to Average MPG.

But would I buy another? - NO!

never had any problems with my road angel 2 when i had it...

the reason your laser alert hasn't gone off in over 10,000 miles is because you havent been targeted for 10,000 miles.Even if you go past a van it doesnt necessarily mean that its targeted you...

Just a bit curious but why do you leave your road angel in your car?? especially turned on?? bet it does wonders for your battery and theives would love you in most places

So you got rid of yours - it would be interesting to know why...

Yes - I realise that, potentially. Alternatively it could be that the unit isn't working properly - I find it curious that I've NOT been targeted...

I don't see why one shouldn't leave it in and on. The area it's parked in is immediately outside the office windows and it's covered by CCTV. I can't imagine battery consumption for what is probably a single LED and a bit of minor electronic circuitry can be very high at all. The extension lead for the lighter socket also has two LEDs and I leave that on 24/7 in any case. I do take the RA2 out overnight and when parked in more dubious and less supervised locations. It fits nicely into the right hand glove box...

lol i sold it because I don't need it anymore and the only cameras I go past are ones that I know of (apart from mobile cameras) and a road angel / snooper cant protect you from hand guns...plus my subscription had ran out so I sold it on.

Well its just like leaving your headlights on then? or car stereo?

Default Ra2

glad to other people have found problems with the ra2, another gripe of mine is when your on a normal road (not motorway) and you mark a mobile camera location, it then will only warn you in the same direction you were travelling, so if i turned round to pass the van again it doesn't warn you, okay its a good feature on a motorway u wouldn't want to be warned about a camera on the other carrigeway but in north wales were arrive alive vans are swarming its a really poor device as the mobile van will monitor speeding in both directions of the road.

my the windscreen attachment came with four little grommits so i've fitted four, not sure it your meant to fit two or four the poor handbook doesn't cover this

The only problem i've had with mine is the sticky pad from the windscreen mount has slid forward dueto heat from the sun! Leaving a gooey mess. I must clean it up and superglue it.

Never had a problem with mine. Never 'rattles' or falls away from the magnetic holder either. Had one 'laser' alert which was 'real'..luckily i was below the limit att. My only gripe is the subscription charge. The RA2 has paid for itself in saved points and fines imo.

And don't forget the insurance issue following points accumulation after which the fines issue is somewhat irrelevant - my insurance went up 50% with 6 points! That's a major reason for getting the Fabia vRS rather than, say, a Honda Civic Type R...

If only we could speed and pay the fines without getting the points...

(Only joking - I think!)
