Default Running Power cable down octy sides???

Just before i start on this little project - any thing i should know about any possible problems i may have running 4AWG cable down the side channel in an octy??
Is it easy to get the trim off for instance?
Plus if i remember correctly there is access to the engine bay from within the glove box - correct?

Be grateful for any assistance from peeps who have done it - looked for faq/guide on it but didnt come up with anything...
I've got a 100amp C/B upfront - just a pity maplin dont do 0AWG cable
Thx Lee

Yeah, its no problem running the cable through the car. Very easy to lift off all the trims. The access to the engine bay is behind the glove box. There is a grommit in the engine bay near the pollen filter, under the windscreen scuttle tray, you can use that one.

And maplins do stock 0awg cable! lol

What are you going to be running off the amp? Which amp is it?

Ran 4 down plus a couple of 12's but it gets a bit tight under the trim...the D-sub monitor and 2 usb's run the other side....so there is room.

Q did a guide on the power throught grommit trick

What are you going to be running off the amp? Which amp is it?

OH I didnt know that - last time i went to my sheffield city centre branch they said 4 was biggest - how much per metre by any chance?

Oh and the amp's are Dragster can run 900wrms, and a rather ****ty USA Boss import, but its ok for beefing up some 6x9's for the rear (loud) fill
Next am looking to upgrade the octy front comps possibly with Polk Momo MM6 - http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/prod...c39d0e641d29b7

And couple them to a good amp. Other than that i'm gonna need power for a Carputer too tft touchscreens etc etc

Run a 16 or 12 signal wire with it, you can then contol booting + reset from the drivers seat

Thats over and above an itpc or similar device as you don't always want you pc on, or you do, but ignition off

We (www.kissmyice.co.uk) can supply you with 0 gauge cable or full wiring kits.

Unfortunately it's not yet listed on the website but if you want to know more just ask

What kinda price are we talking per metre (as so far i have found maplin to be the cheapest around, well deffo with there 4awg cable anyhow - thats £2-49/m)
Let me know mate i may be interested - i dont need full wiring kit, although i may be after a bigger C/B if am gonna be using 0AWG after all. Currently got a 100A C/B for the 4awg(120A max) cable.
Big plans ahead....

Thx
Lee

It's not cheap stuff unfortunately.
RRP is £9.75 p/m, but this is very nice Voodoo 0-gauge cable and you can have it in blue, purple, clear silver, pearl silver, red or black. As used by Calibre Coachworks and the Max Power guys ( ?).
We could do a Briskoda price of £8.25 p/m and depending on where you are in the country i'm sure we could come to some sort of arrangement on delivery

i installed some zero gauge the other day in my octavia down one side, it goes fairly easy with just a couple bits of trim being altered slightly to fit perfect.

i bought my wiring kit for £50

came with 4 or 5 meters of blue zero gauge live, 1/2 meter of clear silver zero gauge earth, couple of meter of blue 4 gauge live, meter of clear silver 4 gauge eart, signal cable, post clamp, 2xdistribution blocks(live and earth) along with all the crims needed. snapped it up in a 1/2 price sale a few months ago

zero gauge is bloody heavy cable!!
