| I have got a scorpion alarm system installed on my car. It was done before i bought it so don't know anything about it. I has a red push button led on the dash next to the radio that lights up when doors are locked. My questions are: 1. If i install a new system is it better to take the Scorpion one out or wire round it 2. If i install a remote start do you think it will work with the scorpion/immobiliser I am tempted to wade in and just do it, but can afford not to have the car if i break it. All avise appreciated. | Sound like the alarm is the OE accessory cat2 - 1 upgrade that would have ben installed by a dealer/approved installer - cant offer any options - guess the old one not working? If it is and does work its a Cat 1 so why change? John Last edited by stopan1j; 24-10-2005 at 22:21. |

| Should have said before. The old unit does still work. The reason i am looking at changing is because i would like to have an Auto starter, so i can start the car to warm it up whilst i am in the house. I am confident in most wiring in the car. Have put in False floor in boot and cabled quick release power so i can remove it all. Have wired in additional interior lighting so i can see in the back. But one thing have never played with is imobiliser (spelling, sorry). If i buy new system i think it is possible just to install the starter but it would still need to be linked to the imobiliser. |
