Default skoda fabia (classic) front speaker upgrade

I’m looking to upgrade the front speakers in my fabia. I'm not looking for anything too special, just better that the OEM speakers. Not looking to spend to much either (bit skint atm but fed up of the poor sound quality ).

I'm looking for speakers that will be (reassembly) essay to fit. I've heard this isn’t the easiest upgrade to do.

I'm looking on ebay so if there’s anything on there atm I'd vary much appreciate any help in finding some.

Thank you vary much
Tim

My last update in my Members Car thread may help you here:
http://www.briskoda.net/forums/brisk...2/#post1018875

I got my Alpines and adaptors from Car Audio Direct - The UK's leading car audio and stereo resource - good place

For speakers, search CAD for the model number I listed in the thread. The adaptors you need are these ones

Sound deadening came through eBay

Top little upgrade this, I'm very happy with the resulting improvement, especially considering the relatively modest outlay

HTH,
Steve

Steve,

Did you upgrade the rears also or just the front??? If so are the rear speakers the same size as the fronts?? This is one of the things on my to-do list but the thought of having the front doors in bits has put me off so far.....

I notice the Alpines come with the tweeters also.... I was just gonna swap out the door speakers & rear speakers and leave the tweeters to be honest.....

Cheers

Dave.

Just the fronts Dave, and swapped the tweeters too. Didn't see any point doing the rears TBH, and I'm still of that opinion.

Not sure on the rear speaker size...

Dont bother changing the rears, you should have most of your sound faded to the front anyway.

I also wouldnt bother changing the front speakers unless you are going to amplify them

I'd disagree here. Personally, I've found that they've made a noticeable difference still running through the Symphony.

Granted, I'll be moving shortly to an aftermarket HU, but that actually wasn't the original plan (my original driver's speaker was distorting, so I needed to do something)

I've found I need to turn the HU volume up a little higher than I used to, for some tracks, but as the speakers can now handle this, I don't see this as a problem. All my listening is run through an IceLink and iPod. I also found I needed to have a few goes at bass/treble adjustment to get them sounding right on the OEM headunit.
