Default Skoda phone kit microphone

Anybody got the part number for the microphone that goes with the skoda phone kits and sits in the cut out by the light fitting?

Also are there other parts required to mount it to a jack fitting and has anyone tried using these with a nokia or parrot etc kit?

Thanks.

I'm also interested in doing this with my Parrot kit. So is it just a simple swap then Stu?

Cheers

Don't know to be honest. It is a 2 wire microphone but that's as much as I know.

Thanks, that's useful to know. Should still be able to sort something out then even if it isn't a jack connector.

I believe someone did try this and had problems, a search should bring it up.

I pesonally cut the nokia one out its holder and clipped it in with the little bit of foam squashed in on top and it works quite well.

Thanks Stu

It's just something I'm looking at the moment and hopefully something that won't be needed.

Just got to try and work out how to route a different cable and avoid the heating ducts at the moment.

I need to get some quotes for parts so I'll have a nosey at how much this costs and might have a go at it.

It could be that the Skoda OEM mic needs to be supplied with power in order to work correctly.

Similar to phantom power in the professional world...

Phantom power is usually only done down XLR's with 3 pins not 2 pin Jacks though.

I'd be amazed if the skoda mic used a balanced feed.

Here's a whole page of non-balanced mics that need power - Browse for Products=

The clue to my message was in the word "similar"....

Just checked the receipt for the mic that I bought, the part number is shown as 3B0 035 711 B B41 and cost a whopping £29.02 inc vat and that is back in 2005!
