| I will hopefully be installing a symphony cd radio in my furby soon. My local dealer has told me that the unit will need matching to the car on vag com, for which they want to charge £36. Surely if I have the code I can just punch it in and go, or is the dealer correct?? |

| The dealer tool is called VAS not VAG-COM. As long as you have the correct radio code then you should not need to visit the dealer. The only reason I can think of is to have the softcoding checked but that shouldn't be an issue.

| thanks Stu, I thought that was the case, I'm just a bit miffed that my local dealer (and I think yours too) would try to rip me off. I have recently bought £400 of spares from them, perhaps no more. |

| I tend to use one of my local dealers for cars, one for parts and the other one for servicing/repairs. They each have their own strengths and weakness's.

| If it's the local dealer that claims not to be in Gosport then to be quite honest I'm not. I'm waiting for confirmation by another dealer and then skoda before I take them to task over ripping me off.
