| The last thread needs to be discontinued and a new one that is focused on the latest updates, when available and any problems with it or devices. Under no circumstances discuss any legal tit tat or bartering of the two companies, this is just for the database and its device only!! Any comments made, testing of database is of self opinion and does not represent the whole group at whole. Testing althorugh a good way to test the database can often give different results depending on location within the uk and to which database/s are used. Feel free to help and add your opinions, however once again each contributer's post is there opinion and may not be the same view expressed by other members or briskoda.

| Hi Everyone, although I’m not a Skoda owner I’ve been following this Talex thing for some time now, as I would like to update my full fat Talex with the latest database. Does anyone know if the latest software will work on a Windows Vista computer? |

| I believe it works you just need to tell it to run in XP compatibility mode. Obviously the driver itself is the risky part so I would do yourself a backup and restore point *before* installing the database update driver and software.

| Why? And on whose authority? There was a lot of interesting and useful stuff there. Before asking for more user support I think smstext should come clean on who he is and who he represents. Last edited by Beefheart; 04-04-2008 at 12:21. |

Calm down and don't assume everyone is up to no good. Without going into too much detail the threat of legal action has been made/recieved and at the request of Paul (smstext) the thread was closed and to protect Briskoda it was further deleted.

Regardless I think we all knew it was coming, which is a shame as it was quite useful, however I am sure this thread will have plenty of useful info on the databases as and when it comes. Paul is a normal memeber of briskoda who I have met at a meet. As far as I am aware he represents neither party and is just a user who wanted answers as to which way to jump. I think his contributions have been pretty useful and do not for a second believe he was doing anything untoward.

| yes, great shame, there was a lot of useful information there. Without these forums we would have known nothing about what was happening during the long silence of no website, no communication and no updates. |

| Thanks for that word of explanation Stu. It would have been useful at the beginning of the new thread but makes sense now. Last edited by Beefheart; 04-04-2008 at 13:32. |

| I personally think they have missed a trick as there are a large number of users here who were/are ideally placed to report changes and bring the databases up to date free of charge.
