Pretty much what I'd have expected...

What size excess does that have though?

Though being under 25 you'll still be classed as "young and inexperienced", so there'll be an additional excess for this. Also they won't give you a policy with 3rd party cover on other peoples' vehicles.

With Direct Line?! 'cos I asked them when I was 22, and they weren't having any of it. Also their introductory "2 years NCB for the price of 1" only applied to over 25s, which they didn't tell me until it came to renew...

Having read your other thread suggest you also try Liverpool & Victoria, you might be too young but if not they are VERY MOD FRIENDLY, Provided you dont increase the size of the Engine they dont charge any more & I get the feeling you might just mod the Skud a lot

Some people are doing the Dump Valve as well.

Give Jabba a call for advice, they can do the lot including the cruise control, fitting the stalk is easy but while its being mapped they can take care of the neccesary tick in the cars computer

Insurance companies are crap. I got a quote on my bike for £500 from the same insurers I had last year. I did some ringing around and found I could get the insurance for £340 so I called my previous insurers up and all of the sudden they could get the insurance down to £350... strange that, they wanted to pull my pants down over the insurance and when I asked them why all of a sudden they could get it down £150 they made up a **** and bull story about rates etc... Fecking *******.

I know what you mean, though: before I got the 4x4 I was looking for quotes for the vRS or the Leon Cupra (not "R"). They were perfectly happy to insure me on the vRS but refused to quote me on the Cupra with the same engine and performance

Well, I Never!

Had exactly the same thing. My lil' SV650S, with dual titanium renegade zorts (the mutt's nuts in sounds and performance), alpha dotted, datatool system 3 alarm/immob, etc. with 3 points.

Bennetts wanted around £700 to renew after my first year. I asked the usual, i.e. "is that the very best you can do?". Answer was of course "yes, it's a very good deal to be honest!)
Did some shopping around, managed to lower it a fair amount (about £450 iirc), phoned up Bennetts again to say thanks but no thanks and then they could magically do it for less than the other insurer.

As you say... Some (not all) are a load of to55ers, just after your cash
