Default Toad C4T alarm - any experiences?

Following on from some lowlife pulling the spoiler off my Tavia vRS, I'm considering having a Toad C4T alarm fitted to my vRS, and wondered if anyone had any experiences (good or bad!) of the alarm?

I was planning on having the tilt and knock sensor options, as well as the proximity warning beep.

Many thanks!!

Have the Toad 850T2 which has been faultless, with exception to the installation of the siren.

The engineer used 4 self tapping screws to secure it to the bulk head, and one of them went into the wiring loom strapped to the back of it.

So, after having a couple of fuses blown and giving the dealer the run-around for a couple of weeks, I was landed with a bill of £270 for 2 days car hire and the cost of the auto electricians time to diagnose the fault.

Needless to say Toad plc acted responsibly and paid in full with a letter of apology, so no hard feelings.

The moral of the story, whilst it is convenient to have their engineer come out and install on site at no extra cost, take you car to an approved workshop to be fitted. Also buy from them online as I found them to be the cheapest.

Hope this helps

I have a Toad c4t on my octy vrs.
Well actually its a Max Power Toad alarm, which i was a little hacked off about cos i payed alot for it, thinking i was getting a proper Toad alarm but ended up having installed the cheaper copy. But its basically the same alarm.
It works fine though except the auto-relocking function doesnt work properly...but this is due to the way the lighting and locking circuit in the VAG wiring works.
I can recommend not using GAP Security as the sales guys are very comission based ie pushy etc, expensive (i really dont know y i used them myself). Also they quote on there website about the quallity of workmanship..."GAP engineers don't cut corners, soldering all connections into your vehicle's wiring loom and protecting them with melted plastic covers." if melted plastic covers are dodgy insulation tape this statement might be true! maybe im picky but insulation tape is naff!
i also had (at least i think i had installed cos i have never found its real use) a almighty IRS shock sensor. payed about 100quid extra for this thing but dont even know if it was installed, cos the tyre fitter guy managed to change both rear wheels/tyres with alarm set and didnt go off! maybe the really usefull GAP security alarm fitter didnt set it up correctly?
