| Guys, he's asked a question which perhaps deserves less cryptic answers if you don't mind Thread moved to a more apropriate forum.

| The answer is yes. Do a search for DaveU. Also PM Des. Although his is now a 1.5 I believe he knows someone who's fitted a big gt to a red vRS.

| i do have the eliminator kit. not bad power spool wasnt the greatest. i have an exhaust leak at the manifold to head, not sure if it is the manifold slightly cracked or what but i thought if im going to remove it all i might as well just fit a proper gt2871r kit. more power, quicker spool and a neater setup in all. |

Now you have completely lost me. Let me get this straight you have a gt28 eliminator kit fitted and you want to change the whole set up for a gt2871 set up, is it worth it. How much power are you getting now and when does the turbo come in. Have you got any pics of your setup as is. Nothing wrong with IP's kit by the way, I have one fitted myself.

| Ah, ok. Well as said already you need to speak to DaveU and Delcac as they both have experience of IP's kits either themself or through a 'friend'.

| What's so bad about that. He's not going to get a lot more unless he does the internals. Spool up won't be quicker with out equal length mani and or 2lt etc.

| I agree. Seems a bit extreme changing the whole lot. Why not get a equal length mani for the eliminator kit (I know JBS do one and expect others do too). Also I think a proper custom map would improve things over the Revo BT software.

| i have all internals done 1.9ltr valves head gas flowed diff, clutch ect done. full spool is around 4200 or so. makes around 320bhp, and just over 300lbsf i currently have a exhaust leak at the mani to head and there could be a crack in the mani im not sure, but the reason i would prefer to upgrade is also because once i have got this atp manifold off, i never want to install it again, any one with experience with one will know what im talking about. as i done the full wack and had all the engine done i want something that will spool just under 4k. make more power, in this case should be around extra 50bhp or there abouts. also in the future much easier to remove for what ever the reason might be at that time. after i sell the milltek DP and the old kit TBH im not making that much damage to the wallet over the gain in power and other advantages like spool fitment etc. i dont quite understand why every one is having a go at me. look i got this on order now from mike and i just wanted a few pics of the setup to see how every thing is situated, how the vac lines dv and pcv valve (if you havnt got a catch can) is all bolted together. i have a FMIC with piping that goes down by the battery and a cold side DV relocation kit, i would like to see and get an idea on what silicone shapes i will need to order from forge etc. delcac what car and engine did you fit the turbo kit on? Was it your 1.5? cheers myk3 |

As you have all the internals I think a proper big turbo kit is the way to go. My GT30 spools under 4k so I'm sure you'll be happy with the spool from the GT28.

i would hope for the same results which would give me fair bit more torque and power and quicker spool. the down side to the eliminators is the stock housing which affects the spool and performance, but a great idea from ATP on the other hand! as i said before i am looking for a bit more power, quicker spool, and neater install for when i may have to remove things in the future. and once i sell the old parts i remove i havnt made that much a loss on the total price which is a very good one might i add! eddyH, i looked in to the equal length mani and yes i could do with a custom map, but then that would cost near the same as what this whole kit is costing me. so back on topic, delcac what engine did you install your kit for mate? | |
