It's probably just me but has anyone.......

Wouldn't a remap be more useful that a respray ? :o

Don't forget you will soon be able to have SKY through your x-box 360 soon. Ps3 stick that in your pipe and smoke it. :D:D

You can remap an XBOX? Cool... :P

Would you really want to overclock a XBOX 360?

- It can be done. The end result is just a mess. The old case can't be used and watercooling is used. (Just don't bother and tart the case up instead).

It's started....... The new black faceplate is on. Have watched a couple of vids regarding case removal so should hopefully be ok. I'm gonna get the paint tomorrow ready to hopefully start on Tuesday after my last night shift Monday night.

Rob i saw your pics eventually when not at work..... I think that looks pretty cool.

I've seen pics of pearl white one's which look good too.... I'll be happy with satin black on mine so it fits in to the AV setup better..... It'll give me more ammo to use in the case to replace the amp, which is brushed aluminium style, with a black Onkyo. :):):)

Cheers

Dave.

Opening the case takes about 10 mins. Just make sure you've plugged the DVD drive back in before you power it up otherwise you might lose your live connection on that console...

It just so happens the BBC model B was out the other week during a sort out. Still have the Atari 2600 console, Commadore VIC20, Commadore 64, BBC model B, Atari ST1024, Mega drive, PS1, PS2 & Sega Gamegear in my possession along with the current stuff.:thumbup::thumbup:

I got two atari 2600s and 30 games today for a tenner to be added to the mountain in the loft.

Only the more modern plastic versions but I've got two boxed woodys up there already.

And an atari 5200 , atari 7200 and 1040ST.

Both types of C64 , 2 C128s an A500 , 500+ , 600HD , 1200

Sega Master System 1 and 2 , Megadrive 1 and 2 , Saturn , Dreamcast , Gamegear.

Nintendo NES , SNES , N64 , Gamecube.

Dragon 32 , Acorn Electron , Tandy TRS80 (I think - not seen it in a while) and a mountain of games for each of them :D

My X-Box has also recently joined the pile and I've got a PS2 , PS3 , DS and Wii to play on at the mo.

Old Consoles rock!

Why would I want SKY?

My PS3 plays all the new US shows in HiDef long before Sky catches up.

:D

I'm only removing the outer case to paint it.... The internal casing shouldn't be touched along with the DVD drive etc....

It's quite easy to take an XBox 360 to bits, just have to be brave when the case is flexing to get the two halves apart :D

This is mine when I fixed it with an Ebay X-Clamp mod.

I took the case apart this morning when i got in from work. Took about 10 mins and i used a couple of jewellers screwdrivers and a torque driver jobbie.

When i got up this afternoon i washed over the two halves of the case so they are fully clean. I had intended to nip out to B&Q for the paint when i got up this afternoon but as we had a massive thunder storm right over our house which kept me up most of the day i ended up staying in bed till 4pm so didn't have time so will get the paint tomorrow once i get up. Then the painting will begin. :)

One thing i did notice was that the Microsoft warranty seal under the faceplate was broken... This is due to it being repaired under warranty by John Lewis last month. I would have thought the repairer would have replaced the old broken seal with a new one but obviously they haven't.... Wonder what MS would say if i had to put in a RROD claim via them in the 6 months remaining of their RROD warranty?????:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Well, Managed to get the case re-sprayed over the last few days and finished it off this morning. I'm impressed with the results and it fits in more with the rest of the AV kit now.....

Some pics.....

The xbox in pieces before the respray....

That looks nice and tidy.

A big improvement over the white case

I was very tempted to fill in the 'xbox360' text with silver paint but haven't got the patience to mask it off...... Might do it at a later date. :)

Just finished respraying the ipod dock now so that also matches everything else. :D
