Problem with electric windows

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I am having some bother with my leccy windows, they were working fine yesterday but not today!

My drivers side one will go down but I have to hold the button down, same for putting it back up. The passenger window will not go up or down all!

This was working yesterday evening, got in the car the morning and found the fault!

Any ideas??

P.S. I have VAG-COM and a cable if anything needs to be done on there.

I don't think so. If that was the case why would the one touch on my drivers side have packed up too.

Plus, this has happened before but the garage just fixed it when it went in for something else (it was still under warranty then too)

In case anyone was wondering I fixed the problem!!

A VAG-COM scan found no faults so i decided to re-seat the fuses for the windows, fuse 56 for the front left window fixed the issue of the window not working. After this I had to use the one touch reset procedure and now everything is hunky dory!!

Hi

My drivers window on octy mk1 vrs has packed in. It is down about an inch and a half but wont go back up.

I have read many posts about it could be the connectors on the motor.

Anyway before investigating that route.

I want to check out the fuse situation.

Mine is an ex police car and i got no manuals or anything else with the car just the key and V5 Doc.

Please could you tell me which number fuse works the drivers side window and where is this fuse located.

Is it in the main fuse box on edge of drivers side dash.

Would anyone have a picture of the fuse box and bev able to point out to me which fuse is for drivers window.

As when i take the fuse box cover off it doesnt tell me anything on the cover.

Thanks Daz

Thanks for the posts, my the front passenger window on my '54 Fabia stopped working and the driver's window lost its one-touch. Pulling and reseating the fuses cured both.

Only problem was with the operative (me) who mis-counted and pulled fuse 56 (ECU) first so I had an ECU warning until the car had stood overnight.
