Default Millau Bridge Trip - 2007

There was talk a while back about this trip but it seems to have been swallowed up with other international trips taking precedent.

So what about it guys & gals, I thought that a four day trip in April/May time would be quite nice.

I think this was an idea taken from the SCN forum and posted previously by Neo_VR iirc in the Freedom section, but open to all suggestions and dates but it gives you all plenty of time to save up

Tie it in with some ring action or the Magny Cours Car festival.

wait until the Rl fixtures are out. Then fit it around the time Harlequins RL are away to Catalans Dragons and I'm there. Road trip and Super League.
If not I'm with shifty on getting some red hot ring action.

Don't think that Rugby is going to appeal to the masses do you?.

What about combining this with 24 Hours Le Mans which is generally around the begining of June. Take a tent and shed loads of beer for one heck of a weekend!.

don't care about the masses, just me. (oh and it's rugby league, not rah rah rugby).

Le Mans, good idea.

How about down to Provence, up & down mount Ventoux, then across towards the bridge, stay in a cheap hotel local to it & be there for sunrise, across the bridge & up to Reims, lunch at the motorsport Cafe, visit the old track, the old 2 mile straight is now a public road & most of the track buildings are still there, great for a piccie opertunity & a few "demo runs" Then Home

i'm up for a trip to the Milau bridge , not bothered what time of year as long as there is something of interest going on in the area that everybody can enjoy or the trip is linked in to a road trip to Le Mans or French GP (motoGP or F1) or even the Ring again

We were discussing the possibilities of this trip while we were having fun in Czech, in anticipation of the next international venture!

I'm liking the idea of a longer trip next time - makes the long drives more worthwhile, gives us a chance to see and do a little more. I really enjoy these trip, especially with never having travelled before and I'd like a couple of extra days to enjoy myself!!

So anyway, round a 'distinctly average' chinese meal in Prague we discussed the possibility of going to Millau Bridge as suggested, meeting up, maybe stay there a night? Then whoever wants to could carry on to Germany for some more ring action for a few days. I know Roo would be up for it as he was suggesting going late April as a load of us have birthdays in a row!!

I'm sure we could get a group of people who'd like to go to the ring. Then whoever didn't want to go doesn't have to. You could stay in france or something....

Would anyone be interested in that then?

how about a drive to tenerife then, drive to spain, get a ferry, the ferry journey takes a day, and then a week over there. some of the roads are nice and twisty.

(Or just a group holiday and hire a load cars)

FYI European Rentals with Argus Car Hire seemed fairly reasonable on my recent trip to spain.
