Has anyone else done this yet?
I sent an email in my best German about 3 days ago... Not heard back yet though. Furchtbar.

Well, if no-one else is using the ferry, I'm happy to meet on the main road into Belgium. I'm pretty sure that that was the first thing you come across when leaving on the eurotunnel, but not so sure on the ferry (never done that ) Quite tempted to go really late on the Thursday night and kip over in that services / on the ferry.

And if I'm using the cheaper ferry to Bolougne, I'll have an extra bit to drive up to Calais.

Very interested myself in this trip. Was thinking of going in July, but August is no problem.

If I come over I'll proberbly stay in Bonn, closer to the ring and very good public transport for getting around. Less traffic in the centre for when you are driving to/from the hotel.

So is Bonn a better bet then Manny?

I'm not fussed but that could mean a good night out on the Sunday before the drive home mid morning.

Wow - Bonn is getting quite close to my German side of the family, what's left of them. Looks to be about 80/90km from the Ring, or at least from Nurburg itself.

I'm going to need molly-coddling through this trip by those that have been there.

Bonn is an oldish city, I say oldish because I think we bombed some of it in WW2. Bonn used to be the capital of Germany until Berlin took over. The hotel I stayed at 2 weels ago is a one mile walk from the centre, has its own underground secure carpark but at €70 per night for a single room including breakfast maybe out of some peoples budget.

Hopefully we can all get the same tunnel crossing and the same hotel.

Am currently looking online at hotels in Bonn and will post some links up later on this evening everyone.

No it was his suspension. LPG for a diesel is way more hassle than it's worth (although possible).
