I'd be interested but unfortunately expect the cost would be a problem. Shame as it sounds like a good trip.

IIRC correctly the Old St Gothard's Pass (excuse my spelling) is between Italy and I think Switzerland is open for about 1 month, August I think.

It is cobbled, and has 21 stacked hairpins. Went over it about 10 years ago with my Dad........

Defiantly worth a look if your interested.

The San Gotthard pass is only open in August (i drove past most of it going to the San Gotthard tunnel not anywhere near as much fun) think it is tarmac now though as the cars that i saw on it where going fairly quickly

Just a feeler, but very interested and it's more the timing that might be an issue than the £ for me, as I've not been away anywhere this year. I might even have a Skoda again by then.

I am kind of wishing I put myself down for the PRague trip now that's almost upon us!
