| Hello, Team. I've just joined the group, complete with Fabia VRS, in Silver. I had an MX5 for the past 5 years, for occasional weekend use but have started to plan my retirement which comes up in just a year. It was time to let the MX5 go, as 'Senior Management' has a bad back and it was increasingly difficult for her to twist whilst getting in and out. We (I) decided that a 2 litre turbo diesel would be a good idea so have been scouting round. Finally we settled on the Fabia, but really liked the Octavia 1.9/ 130. Delightful but just too long for the garage without major rearrangements. The Fabia turned out to be even better, but does have rather high road noise levels. No idea what make of tyre is fitted but they have the thickness of rubber bands from the office. The next step is to find a set of rear mudflaps that fit the back panel. The standard Skoda units don't go around the wheelarch flange and I'm not keen on trimming it down as it stiffens the panel. Are there any suggestions as to source? Halfords is an obvious starter but they seem to have the 'one size fits all' type which is untrue unless they are earrings! Cheers Clive |

| Welcome Clive, I ran an MX5 for a number of years and bought a Fabia. The trouble was we both wanted to drive the Skoda. Now we have a Fabia vRS and an Octavia vRS - best of both worlds!
