Question Colour of oil

I have recently bought a one year old Octavia Ambiente 2.0TDI with 12K on the clock and I am well pleased with it,however the oil was black on purchase so I had it changed by the dealership and I saw them changing it. However it is still black! Is this normal as in all previous cars I have had (petrol) the oil has always been a clear pale brown colour with regular oil changes.

Yep all the diesels run with black oil, just how they are.

Yup - oil turns black pretty much once it touches the sump. If it's not black, then worry.

Oh, and welcome of course.
