| Hello! Good, that's out of the way with. Got about another two weeks to go before I pick up a new Octy2 as my company car. I've had Golfs the last 2 cars. The first was the pathetic "GTi" 1.8 non-turbo (I had no choice), the current is the excellent 1.9 GT TDi 130 (I was able to choose/spec this one). Both were utterly reliable over 20-25k per year. However with 2 growing kids I needed something a bit roomier. When I started looking I thought I wanted an A4 Avant, but when I specced what I wanted I realised I couldn't justify the expense. So I 'lowered' my sights a bit and was leaning towards the Accord until our firm was loaned an Octavia 2.0TDi Ambiente for a week earlier this year. I managed to keep hold of it for most of the week and we got on very well, so much so that we've got 2 on order. I've speced mine as listed below. I've gone for an Estate in black even though I've not seen one yet. I think it will look good and hopefully not too "Hearsey". I was impressed with the standard audio in the loan Octavia, which was a big improvement on the Golf which is disapointing, especially from the CD source. Even so I wanted the MP3 funcionality of the Audience unit and I've gone for the uprated speakers as well even though I've not heard them yet. (It's not my money) I did notice with the loan Octavia there seemed more cabin noise than I've been used to with the Golf, but not enough to influence my decision. I'm not convinced about the styling at the front, but do like the back of the estate and the Pegasus wheels make a huge difference to the look of the car. The overall package just seems to make good sense: A solid car, plenty of room in the back, plenty of power and a fair amount of toys at a good price. Two weeks to go.

| Welcome to the site.. and congratulations on the choice of car. i think there has been a skoda tech bullitin and a modification in regards to cabin noise/wind noise issues... so i think any new build cars shouldnt suffer from it ![]()

| Hi, I'm waiting for my new company car as well - but I've gone for the old Octy vRS estate in red. Just wondered when you ordered yours, and what the delivery situation is. Mine was ordered around easter and I believe was a factory build because I added heated seats, cruise, parking sensors and an airbag switch. It was all set to be delivered this coming Tuesday (24th May) but last week I was informed that its going to be w/c 6th June. Anyone else having any delays? Must admit I don't know the full story - this info must go from Skoda to the dealer to the lease company to my personnel dept to me - so good communication is far from guaranteed!

Dealer told me last Monday mine is in the country and due to them end of next week (27th May), so should get it middle to end of the following week. The other, Ambiente Estate 1.9 TDi in silver, will follow in a further week or so. Didn't say why but I didn't ask.
