Cool Finally Found You All.....

Well i'm pleased to say that after weeks of searching the web i have finally found a forum for us Skoda owners..... Hello to one and all...

I myself have a 2001 Octavia VRS. Hopefully will be able to get lots of advice about getting the best from my Girl. Have only fitted a Monza DV so far but will be probably changing the Air Filter soon for a K&N. Thought of fitting an induction Kit but not sure it will be worth it and not to keen on the extra noise from previous experience with another car. May go for a remap too and looking at a Revotechnic. Sound quite good and are most local to me, so that helps.....

Any Tips or comments most welcome......

Welcome, Buggs. Is the Monza DV a recirculating or atmospheric one?

Atmospheric.... Dont really know much about modding cars. Normally stick with my other toy the Bike. Found some Guy on ebay and took his advice about the DV. Definately makes the car smoother and a little more keen...

Default Air Filter Mods....

Like i said earlier, looking to change the element in the Air Box. Was gonna go with a K&N but have noticed on this site that most people recommend the Green Filters. Any comments on these......

Also are these the same as the one's advertised at Demon Tweeks and are there any mods i should make to the air box. Saw some post earlier where they mentioned "Dremmling" the fins out. Not looked inside air box yet so not sure what they mean.....

Hey buggs? What's up doc (or should I say ) Greetings to you

I can't comment from experience myself as I haven't been down the air filter route (yet). But I think the reason why K&N is not so popular here is because they are fairly well oiled which can cause MAF problems (expensive electronic metering thingy for air intake). The green panel filter is less oiled and therefore maf friendly

My airbox has the fins removed. I used a sharp knife, some pliers and a wood chisel. It takes about 15 minutes. The fins aren't that big to start with though, so removing them didn't make all that much difference. The BIG intake pipe did, though

PS did I say "welcome" btw?

Nope - it's the intake pipe from Wickes

(think the Seat intake pipe refers to Fabias)
