| Hello everyone, My name is keith and I'm your latest Briskoda virgin!!!! I,ve been a proud skoda owner for some 6 months now and just love my car to bits. I,ve got a late MK1 octavia vrs (55 plate) in black magic witch, due to the fantastic price I paid (£12,560 basic from rainworth motors in mansfield.) was able to get fitted with cruise control, zenons, park sensors and heated seats. All in, mine cost £14,160 which ,even now I think was a great deal. Last weekend, I drove it to silverstone for the first time (Im a huge GT and BTCC car racing fan.) And,whilst doing a gentle 70 mph economy drive on the saturday morning of the race meeting saw fuel economy of 41.5 mpg which I was really impressed with. On the sunday morning however, I found some very, very quite stretches of my favorite private test track and couldn,t resist giving it a bit of a blast. The result was 150mph on the speedo before some regular speed traffic slowed me back down to a more sensible speed. Even on this run, where my average speed for the journey was closer to 95 mph, I still managed to get 27.2 mpg. All in all, my vrs has been the best, fastest and most practical car I,ve ever owned and, although I love the look and spec of the new mk2 vrs,I think I,ll be keeping my current one for another few years yet!!!!! Best wishes to all on briskoda!! keith (listerfan!) Last edited by listerfan; 14-05-2006 at 12:56. |

| Hello and welcome. I assume your first post meant to say the 150mph was on your own personal private test track (and not the M40). Might be worth editing it just to clarify ![]()

| Many thanks "andy2407" for correcting my stupid little error! The car really did feel fantastic at speed though. |
