Hello everyone

Bought a 2004 registered Seat Leon hatchback 1.9 TDi last week and happily motored about 600 miles over the weekend. However, I am trying to check whether its a 130 bhp model, which the dealer believes it is but isn't sure, or the slightly older 110 bhp version. I'd be grateful if anyone can advise me how to tell. Many thanks.

Re: Hello everyone

Hello & welcome

The dealer should be able to tell what the output of it is from their computer system.

If you never got it from a Seat dealers, just pop into one, they should be able to trace it somehow from their system?

Ben

Plus, you should be able to keep up with the (I think) the MK4 Golf (150 bhp petrol) as mine is a standard fabia vRS and it will easily keep up with them

Re: Hello everyone

Hiya.

If the Leon has the usual "option code" sticker on the boot floor (big sticky label with lots of 3-letter codes on it), one of them is the engine code, which will tell you if it's a 110 or 130. Also, if the Leon's like Skodas, Veedubs and Audis, then if the badge is all one colour (silver or black) it's 90bhp, a red "i" is 110, and a red "Di" is 130.

Many thanks for your input. There was no label on the boot floor, but there was an ID sticker on the inside of the spare wheel. This wasn't much help. However the ID in the engine compartment listed various weight maximums, and comparing these to the handbook guidelines, it matches the 110bhp spec. If this is right, then it means that the car is a year older than the first registration date, and worth less than I bargained for. I will take it up with the supplying dealer tomorrow! I grteatly appreciate your interest.
