| good morning all, nice to know we aren't the only people suffering with a skoda! We bought our fabia 2.0i 52 plate in July and last night when my wife was driving to work, all the electrics failed, she managed to get it off the road, and after about 20 minutes restarted the car put it into gear and they failed again. So waited another 20 minutes restarted and all seemed fine however she did not want to drive it home so she called me, i got the kids out of bed and went to fetch her. Is this a common fault or is it the death knell for our car which has 2 days left on the warranty? Really appreciate any help. phil ![]() |

| Re: Hello everyone. How many miles on the clock? Could be the alternator's gone, in which case you'll have run off the battery until that went flat. Easy enough to tell if you can get it started - just measure the voltage across the battery terminals. If your car has a 'magic eye' battery, you can check the state of that too fairly easily (look in the manual) Hope this helps!

| It possibily electric power control unit (under steering column). One of my friend had that problem. Hi change that device, and after that all OK. But, like it seems to me, you are need to start from simple things: battery, starter, alternator
