Hello- Please help me!

Hello All,

I have a 2001 Skoda Octavia TDI 110bhp and i think i need help. I think i my car has lost power (is this possible)? My girlfriends 1.0l Vaux Corsa (57bhp) can out accelerate me from 0-90. I know my car is heavy and hers is light but surely i there must be a problem with my car. I seem to have no pull in 3,4,5th gear. What do you think? Please help me!

I have only had the car since Dec 05 and i am not sure if the power has always been poor or if it has just decreased over time.

Thanks

Bill

Re: Hello- Please help me!

Yep , thats definitely not right as it should be quite a brisk car when healthy.

A very common cause of these problems is a faulty MAF sensor which is an easy swap to DIY.

Whereabouts are you in the country? You can use some software called VAG-COM to read fault codes off the ECU and see if there are any problems being logged.
Plenty of people on here would be able to help you if you are local.

Re: Hello- Please help me!

I live near Peterborough, Do you know where i can get a New MAF sensor from for little money? Can anyone help me? i can't remember if i was happy when i first got the car. I have just been noticing recently that cars are overtaking me that shouldn't be and i don't have any pull in high gears.

If anyone could help me i would be most greatful.

Re: Hello- Please help me!

It will but only if they do the right test, it may not flag up a fault but you can check in in the measured value blocks.
