| Hello from a soon to be Octy VRS owner! Hi all, I'm new on here but have been following the forums for a few weeks since deciding to get an Octavia VRS for my next car. I'm an electrical design engineer for a local engineering company and a freelance nightclub lighting jockey / programmer in my spare time. My cars to date have been fairly sedate (due to flipping a Nova GTE end over end at the tender age of 19 ) consisting of a metro (parents fault - I hated it), citreon AX (nippy but falling apart), fiesta sport (quick but rusted to hell) and now the escort (big wheels but not enough balls!!!) so the octavia will be my first proper powered car. I've always put in subs and 6x9's etc so I'll be taking notes from the ICE section and taking my time to make a proper install this time as to date it's all just been functional but not so nice looking (I know, in my job it should be but I'm still waiting for the round-tuit to arrive )So with the decision made and the details registered with my local skoda dealer is there anything anyone would like to advise on what I should watch out for? It'll be a standard 03 onwards (mk1?) I'll be after in black or silver (annoying as the dealer has one in red but all the previous cars were red so want something different) I've sifted exhaustively through pages of info on the ice and octavia sections but I'd appreciate anyone's advice on any potential pitfalls to look out for Hope to meet some of you maybe when I'm on the road in the new wheels! Matt |
