Default Hello

Just found this site - it looks brill.
Have a 2003 Superb 2.8 auto bought a month ago with 29700miles. i love it BUT!!

Interior lights wont work with door switching, nor the boot light and door mirror lights and boot will only unlock with keyfob - I have tried to deactivate this mode to no avail.

N S front well is very damp. Garage says not covered by warranty.

Am going through this site to see any relevant threads but any advice much appreciated.

Oh yas, int. lights work on manual switching and footwell and door puddle lamps work on door opening!!!!

HELP....

Many Thanks in anticipation

JJ

Your damp footwell is due to the (poor) design of the scuttle panel drains and pollen filter housing. Don't know about warranty - if it's the 'free' used car warranty that dealers have to supply by law, it'll only cover the basic mechanicals that make the car stop and go (although it never hurts to ask; my wife's A/C got regassed for free even though it wasn't covered). It's unfortunately quite likely that the leak has got into the convenience unit that controls things like the interior lights and the central locking, which is why they don't work properly either. A thorough search on here should provide you with more answers - welcome to Briskoda, by the way!

WHAT A WEB SITE HELPED LOADS!!

Same problem with interior lights all sorted now.......

Basically the nodes that control the interior lights are under the nearside REAR footwell..

Mine just fell to bits and about 10 wires were all floating around literally!!

Soaking wet nearside front footwell had travelled through to the rear nearside footwell all

because the pollen filter seal had broken down. Volkswagen supplied the seal GUM GUM

and it worked a treat No water leak now and all lights work fine now. If anyone needs help email. glent7@aol.com

ONLY OWNED THE CAR FOR 4 WEEKS RICHMOND HYUNDAI OF BOGNOR REGIS

WERE USELESS RUDE AND VERY UNHELPFUL!!!!!

Hiya.
I don't know too much about the Superb, but I'd suspect the sunroof or scuttle drains, the pollen filter, or the door seals or membranes pretty much regardless of make and model.

Welcome to Briskoda..

Remove the black plastic cover under the bonnet that covers the scuttle where the wipers are and have a look in there..There is a possibility the drain hole in there is blocked and the water may have risen to a level where it overflows into the ventilation intakes and onto the floor. This is a common VAG problem.
