Cool Hi All from West Sussex

Just found your web site after ordering a new Red Fabia VRS from a local Skoda specialist (Clarion cars of Worthing, not a main dealer). Now waiting anxiously for delivery. One road test was sufficient to make the decision. I had also considered Ford Focus, Renault Clio 182 or Seat Ibiza Cupra but didn't get around to road testing any of them for various reasons. Owners reviews on the web and visual inspection of the alternatives were sufficient to persuade me in favour of the Fabia. I want a comfortable small but fast long distance tourer for commuting economically to Spain and back with two people and luggage. Saved just under a grand on list price by haggling although a main dealer subsequently told me that they could have beaten the price that I was offered.

Now I have to decide whether to cough up an extra couple of hundred quid on Jewelultra Diamondbrite paint and fabric protection. Never`bothered with this on a new car before and would like feedback from anyone who has.

Will comment again when I get the car but meanwhile am waiting in anticipation.

Welcome.

How long is the killer wait??

When you come to service you might want to try CityGates in Chichester if they aren't too far from you. They seem very reasonable.

They quoted three weeks but I am not in a hurry as I have to clear another car out of the garage to make space. I am keeping my Honda S2000 for open air motoring so have to sell my classic Evante 140TC.

Clarion cars in Worthing are nearest to me. They are an approved Skoda retailer and service agent, just not a main dealer. They are a main dealer for Daihatsu and I am hoping to get better service from a small outfit than a large main dealer, one reason why I paid as small premium to buy from them.

Hi and welcome, I'm only a few miles up the road so give me a wave as you cane it past me on the A24/A27 (at 70 of course, my car only does 65)
