| Hello all, I have just become the proud owner of a 52 Octavia 1.9(110) TDI Elegance estate, with 58000 on the clock, in light metallic green. It has electric everything and some kind of traction control called ASR(?). I previously have had .... T reg Hillman Avenger 1.6 GL. V reg Chrysler Avenger 1.6 GL(T? Had rotor distributor and some other engine improvements (ohc?) as standard. It would do 115mph!) Mini Metro 1.1 4 speed in snapdragon yellow, with hammerite blue wheels. Sierra 2.3D B reg, a great diesel car, rear wheel drive for fun, good low down torque for towing etc. Fiat Tipo 1.7D A bit of a dog, gear selection seemed to be difficult: the change mechanism was susceptible to spraining and missing third or first. The engine did rock a lot. Sierra 2.3D GL Estate in flat blue. Same as above but with lots of creature comforts. The carrying space was superb. A good surf car. Astra Estate 1.7D Low blow turbo for emissions not power as such. This car had the entire rear braking sytem replaced 3 times in 7 years. Wuff wuff but it was a bit of an Irish rover: doing two 1500 mile trips to Ireland with 4 passengers and luggage, plus provisions and miscellaneous items in a roof box. Peugeot 2.1GLX DT 12 valve estate This car was really nice, lots of space and comfort, good environmental controls, a sound system that never rattled even on full volume. It would hit 125 at a push. Some bingo player drove into the side of me and wrote it off! The Skoda is the only car that private hire drivers seem to use around here so they must be very good for reliability. I fell for the 'bulb holder falling into the tailgate' trick this afternoon! Soon solved thanks to the forums though. Thanks for the help and power to the Skoda! Diesel1. | Good question. Quote:
The reason is because i have gone from working fulltime to becoming a fulltime student again. This also means i commute over 400 km every weekend. So no matter how excellent the audi v8 with leather interior and heated and electrical everything i just cant afford it. I can go 3-4 times longer on a liter of fuel in a skoda felicia then in a audi v8. I wish i could have them both I hate to choose. But i have no choice here. I have no chance of finishing my studies with an v8. So im getting a felicia to cut down on running costs. I also wanted a car with two seats. But sometimes i need 4 seats. So the fun is just perfect. Got a picture today. I have no idea how to post it here but ill see if i cant figure it out.[IMG][IMG] [/IMG][/IMG]Last edited by Zachry; 29-11-2007 at 02:09.
