| Briskodian | new skoda driver, probably an old question I've recently purchased a 2004 4x4 octavia estate. I came from an oetinger series golf so I'm trying to get it as close as possible in terms of speed, handling etc. I've already mapped the engine which has made a big difference and chnaged the wheels to vrs ones. I am also getting the crap steering wheel wrapped in leather and the stereo changed. What I'd like to know though is if I put H+R springs in the car (which I think lower it by 40mm) will it be too low? I don't want to be hitting the sump or needing to drive really slowly over road bumps or into sloping driveways etc I'm sure this has been covered before so apologies for that. Also could you post some pictures of lowered 4x4's |

| Re: new skoda driver, probably an old question Hiya. Don't quote me on this, but I think Octys are usually set a bit higher than equivalent Golfs ex works. |

| Re: new skoda driver, probably an old question Welcome! EddyH, Stuart J and Bengie are the members to talk to as they all run "lightly" modified 4x4's. I believe there is a metal sump guard available which might be worth popping on the shopping list regardless ![]() Chris
