| Briskodian | new vrs owner...soon Hi to everyone! I'm not exactly new to the forum as I've been registered for a while, reading up etc. but I've finally managed to sell my 172 so this week I'll hopefully get my hands on an octavia vrs oh, if anyone is selling there's, let me know, got about 6k to spend. one I'm thinking of looking at is a black 51 plate with a chip from somewhere (not sure who did it yet) 18" TT wheels and 55k on the clock. Seller wants £6250 for it which I think is maybe a little high, what do you guys think?? cheers James |

| Re: new vrs owner...soon Welcome to Briskoda James What is the Plate on the car, 2001/51 or 2002/51 ?????? Below is a parkers and glass's price on the motor in question for a 2002/51 plate (?) Parker's Parkers Price Skoda Octavia vRS (01-05) 1.8T vRS Hatchback 5d 2002/51 Average mileage 40,000 miles Private Good £5,535 Vauxhall - Error Glass's Price Skoda Octavia vRS (01-05) 1.8T vRS Hatchback 5d 2002/51 Mileage 55,000 miles Excellent condition: £4680 I would only pay couple of hundred more for the map and 18's on top of the Price above. I think the price they are asking is high IMHO.

| Briskodian | Re: new vrs owner...soon thanks for the reply's guys, as I suspected, he's being a bit greedy! not sad to see the clio go to be honest, quick car and everything but didn't make up for crap build quality, rubbish dealers and overpriced parts! |

I paid £7495 for a 2003 plate VRS with 59k miles, full service history, new brakes all round, 2 new front tyres, timing belt replaced, 12 month Skoda warranty and AA cover.

| Briskodian | Re: new vrs owner...soon drove my first vrs today and have to say I'm very impressed although the ASR doesn't seem to do much it instantly feels like a quality product compared to the clio and I suspect not really any slower. The power delivery is very different though, very flat, infact the clio feels like the one with the turbo! Anyway, my mind is definately made up now, and I can't wait to get behind the wheel again! |

| Re: new vrs owner...soon I found the complete opposite. The VRS felt far quicker and pulled stronger than my 172 ever did. Best of all though is the lack of rattles from the interior ![]() |

| Briskodian | Re: new vrs owner...soon yeah I don't think there's much in it to be honest, the vrs probably feels quicker because the of the greater torque but they're probably about the same in reality. Like you say though, the build quality is a real plus after owning a renault! |

You'll love it when you buy one. I can honestly say it's the best car of the 9 I've owned.
