| I'm thinking of a Revo chip, 18" either RS4 wheels or some 18" chromes (please excuse the chav talk), obviously lowered, exhaust and tints. Think the banks going to love lending me money. ![]() |

| Don't go for a chip go for a full on remap, don't go and get tyres that are absurdly wide as they tend to aquaplane if your on motorways a lot. Get some 18" RS6 wheels as the RS4s are getting too used now. Slower it definatly, they look like off roaders currently, light tint would be nice, new exhaust is cool, PD160 airbox required. Get some big brakes, Octy RS brakes are the obvisous choice, but if you've got more to play with why not try to fit some S3 or R32 brakes on there? Definatly go to your Skoda dealer and talk to them! See if VW finance will lend you the money! |

How do wide tyres cause aquaplane???? I would have thought they would keep the car on the ground better.

Think of a cut slick...it has a minimal tread pattern....good on dry surface which make use of the increased contact patch but as soon as it gets wet the is only a minimal path for water between tyre and road to go....hence aquaplanning. Oh BTW...Hi and Welcome Matty. ![]()

| Add to that, more width equals less pressure per square inch of contact, means you don't cut through the surface water, you have more risk of aquaplaning.
