Hello & Good evening?

Just as I consider buying a Skoda I learn that my nearest dealer has closed the doors...

Is someone trying to tell me something? (Basingstoke)

I've spoken to many Octavia drivers, confirming that this is probably what I'd like; therefore I'm searching for an Octavia TDI 140 BHP DSG estate L&K. (New, or low milage demonstrator)

Having recently test driven one, her & I were both suitabley impressed - all I have to do is find one, preferabley in black....

I've browsed the forums and have enjoyed the comments etc. Now on with my search!

By the way....Has anyone visited the Skoda Museum? Comments?

You can search for stock on the Skoda Uk web-site.
Just had a try and found one in Winchester which must be pretty close to you.
Not sure if the link will work but give it a try.

Had another look at what's available on the Skoda UK site.
The other black one listed at Progress Skoda in Bedford is only one month older and has done 4000 miles less. It has 17" alloys (listed as a £500 option with sports suspension) and ESP (£365 option) - both of which aren't mentioned on the one at Winchester.
Despite the lower miles and added options, it's priced £500 cheaper than the one you are looking at, so appears a better deal. Worth a look maybe!

My local dealer has also closed shop recently! Not happy!? Oh well, long live DIY maintenance!

I visitied the Skoda musem in Mlada Boleslav in September. Worth a visit. YES, if you've never been. Now I have seen it once, I won't bother again! Come along on our Mid Sept 2007 trip.

Hello,

I and my wife have used the Skoda dealer in Winchester for several years, previously they were VW dealers and have found them to be straight and honest but not always the cheapest.

On the subject of dealership changes, a VW garage for umpteen years recently changed to "services all makes of car". I guess that might be a symptom of warranty restrictions being eased or just simply the economics of "customers through the door".

I too visited the muesum earlier this year but to be honest I didn't rate it. The factory tour was something else though, I'd that that again tomorrow given the chance.
