| Hello to all - this is my first Post. Yes, I know, this subject has been raised before and I've read all the threads. I've got a fairly new (57-Plate) Octavia Elegance Tdi with the standard Stream MP3 Head Unit. And it's pretty awful! I can see that many have upgraded. But what's the basic weakness - is it the speakers, or the radio, or the amplifier? One opinion is that it's the amplifier, but I don't need lots of Watts. All I want is decent audio quality at a reasonable volume. Anyone got any advice? If it's speakers, what's the recommendation? Rector By the way, the Octavia is otherwise a brilliant car. |

| Welcome. I can assure you it isn't the speakers.

| Nothing wrong per see with the std speakers. They could do with pushing out a bit more bass though. I might try sticking some more sensitive / non-cardboard cone jobbies in. Rgs Chris |

| Guys Thanks for those comments, and anything more will be posted in the right section! I was an electrical engineer in former days and so I tend to agree with Stu that's it's not the speakers, so we're up for a new Amp. The Stream MP3 is not bad, I suppose, but it's not good either. Further posts in the right bit! Rector |
