Octavia VRS

Hi All
Looking to purchase a Octavia VRS in the next 6 months.

Would appreciate any comments between 200bhp petrol/170bhp diesel.

Which is quicker/more reliable etc.

Cheers.

Re: Octavia VRS

Oh no, not that petrol v diesel argument again!!

Best thing to do is have a wee drive in both and then nearer the time if you think its still the car for you, ask for a days test drive in both, see which one you can live.

I have the TDi and its obviously not gonna be as rapid as the petrol, the fuel savings are more important to me than out right oomph. It does go well enough, gives many a boy racer a suprise (and BMW drivers) and I have had 48mpg out of it over this last couple of days.

The TFSI is I believe more tunable although that may change if tuners can get round the DPF issue/limitations.

Would all depend on what your priorities are in relation to ultimate speed against fuel costs etc.

Have a quick search or look through the OctyII page for more posts on this.

Re: Octavia VRS

Welcome mate.

I'd go for the diesel as well, not only cos I've got a diesel, but with the new tax bandings you won't have to take out a second mortgage every year to put it on the road
