Question oil overfill

What would you do if your Octavia 1.6 had it's first service in March 07, the cat converter had to be replaced in June 07 and last month discovered that it had been grossly overfilled with oil at it's first service. I had checked the oil for loss not excess.
I'm told that I can expect the cat converter to have been damaged again and the dealer drained and refilled the oil to it's correct level but I feel that I should not have to bear the cost of their negligence if the cat converter goes bust again in a few months outside the warranty.

Welcome to Briskoda. Just to clarify, is your car the New Octavia with the 1.6 FSI engine?

this seems to be a common problem with skoda services, same happened wit mine, no cat damage tho. I syphoned mine out from the dip stick hole. Rang the dealer and they said that computers change the oil and they weren't to know. The very basics of a service me thinks, they must just fill in one go, what happened to half filling, check level etc. Each time I have a service it's the first thing I check before driving away...
