| Hi this is Sam, just saying hello to all the folk on the site. I have a 2001 Fabia 1.9 TDI est, and am experiencing intermittent PAS fault indications, but as yet no loss of power steering. Anyone with some suggestions? |

| Welcome Sam ![]() My Fabia does that also from time to time, although it's a different model, but similarly with no loss of the power bit of the steering. I seem to recall reading ... ah yes, here it is: Posted by Lummox relating to a problem where the PAS light came on, the lights dimmed but the car still started OK apparently: "Steering light will come on if battery voltage gets low as it can't power the pump. Also starter draws less than the PAS so it might well start ok. Just an idea thats all based on what ive found in the past." I don't know if it's the likely cause of your problem, but perhaps you could monitor whether it happens after a series of short journeys, or perhaps after sitting with the radio on like wot I do sometimes ![]() Best Mo |
