Thumbs up Tyres

Hi , its me from ticking noises to tyres, only this time i will explain a bit more what i have and do with it!.We have a octavia Elegance 2.0 140 bhp dsg 55 plate now having done about 22000 + miles solo and caravanning (1350 klg)and it seems that mpg is 42 over that mileage.Skoda fitted Bridgestone tyres and wonder whether you think that for that mileage they are nearly down to the wear warning bits. What surprises me is that the rear ones are also near that point but not as much as the fronts. On other cars i have had as much as 40000 miles on the rears. by the way when i enquired about a new set i found out that the same brand is now runflat but in the owners book it does not state that.

Hiya.
I don't tow with my Octy, but it's wearing its tyres pretty evenly front and rear (about the same depth left all round) and all 4 replaced with same brand (Toyo Proxes T1-R) just over a year ago.
I have towed with previous cars though, and found that they've suffered much heavier rear tyre wear when towing.

I have the 2.0tdi elagance estate on the 17" optional pegasus wheels on an 05.My fronts feathered on inside and were replaced at 13k whereas my rears wore evenly but were done by 19k.

Mine was fitted with Dunlop Sport A01's and replaced with Khumo ecsta sport all round.

Fronts will be on the wear bars at about 27-28k. Seems that rear tyre wear is fairly heavy on the A5 Octy.

Could just be me of course

BTW: Front tracking was bang-on but local fitter says many VAG cars do the same to the fronts under factory settings so he toes them in a tiny amount at the first tyre change and it does the trick

No idea if my front tracking is "correct" or not, but the wear is pretty much dead even across the tread all round.
