The 3rd still hasn't been completely ruled out yet or has it ? Why don't we wait and see what dates Mondello has free first. May as well do the quicker Karts if we get a chance. Unfortunately the guy in Mondello is now off until Monday so I'll have to wait to hear back.

Btw 19th is a non runner for me, I'm working the night before the 26th but I should be okay for it. Also what about 12th Nov (me Birthday )?

Okay the 12th is in too!

How about 2 dates? One in November and one in December? (Starting to get carried away here...)

I was only messing about 12th.

Info so far, what do we think ?

I was thinking of the 10th or 11th of Dec (I have to double check dates with Mondello, this was originally changed due to the VAGE day, but this is now moved out till next year)

The grand prixs run as follows, don’t quote me on this but it should be accurate:

Details of our Karting Packages are as follows.

Karting Grand Prix

We run Karting Grand Prix in our twin-engined Pro-Karts on a section of our Outdoor Racing Circuit. Each participant drives in 3 heats of 3 laps each to get their placing for the Quarter final. This is followed by a semi-final and a final which determines the winner. Prizes are awarded for first, second and third place.

Availability
Karting Grand Prix take place on selected weekends throughout the year and on all weekends in December - ideal for a christmas get-together! Alternatively, groups of 25 or more can be accommodates on weekdays during the day.

Group Sizes
Groups of 25 or more can have their very own Karting Grand Prix. Smaller groups can fit in with other small groups to make for a great competition

Price
Euro 75 per person. This includes VAT at 21%. No Group discounts.

Clothing
Helmets, Gloves and Rain Gear are provided. Participants should wear comfortable clothing and flat shoes/runners.

Catering
For corporate Groups, lunch can be provided, please ask for details

10th Dec could be good for me, an going to Mondello would have me on the road home to Cork right after the race

Further information

Cheers for the info. Just a couple of more questions,

Do you run it on both Saturday and Sunday of the weekends ? Yes, given the demand for it.

Start times in December are 9.30a.m. and 1p.m.

This depends on group sizes but the Grand Prix takes about 3 hours for 30 people

Minimum for an exclusive group is 25, there's no max per se but after 32 participants, it starts to take up more time.

Is there a booking deposit needed ? ˆ40 per person to book. Balance is due in advance of event. Payment by cash, cheque, laser or credit card. Telephone transactions are also possible.

No!!!! They're only going after the car because they know the house is fairly easy to break into. It'll be same with your next car...

But it doesn't matter what car you drive! Karting is all about fun!

I dunno what Mondello's cut off is, but if people don't start responding soon I'll pull the plug by the start of next week (as I'm not going to be wasting there time). I've PM'ed everyone, Posted the info on the site & sent about 30 texts out to the southern numbers I have, and only 10 people respond. People could at least respond with a Yes or No so everyone else knows where they stand (everyone has my number !).
Its going to get to the stage where no events will be organised as nobody bothers going, apart from the usual suspects .

I have to completely agree. People have to respond, even just to be polite. I'm making the decision that if the numbers aren't there by next Wednesday, then thats it, Mondello is cancelled. The Vage boys will be invited tomorrow, so reply quick to get a spot.

I will however organise Kylemore for the same date for those of us who are willing to come if that eventuallity comes to pass.

Remember, poor Colm is having a heart attack as we speak, send a response to him even if its a "No". I've had to hear that Rant on the phone and I'm in total agreement with him.

So, its Decision time. Either PM me ot Gaff with your decision, as there's plenty of time to organise around the event. Tell SWMBO's now!

<end of Rant>
