I think I'm available 9th or 10th Dec if that suits anybody.

I'm up for it....and there is a good outdoor track outside Edgeworthstown....anybody been?
There's also a lovely new hotel in Drumshanbo that could be nice to stay in maybe.....
Here's some info on the track and the hotel

Anywhere suits me, as I'll have my car back. 9th and 10th are good for me too, anytime before the 23rd as I'm going home then.

I dunno what to do. I'm not sure if you'd get enough people for an overnight trip. The other thing is would it be tricky to get eg Hotels for one night of a weekend.
What about these options.

Option A
Edgeworthstown or Pudden Hill .... go out in Dublin
The other option would be to come back and go out in Dublin or surroundings. If we go Karting in Edgeworthstown, then theres the issue of people going home to drop of car & then go back out on the beer. But people for the West etc would be in reach (not sure if they are up for it though).
Could also stay fairly local to Dublin City Centre is Puddenhill Activity Centre, could do some karting then head for grub and beers.

Option B
Edgeworthstown and Staying night around Carrick On Shannon
That place Ramada must be over an hour from Edgeworthstown, I'm not sure if theres much going on there. Its also about 150 Euro per room. If we were going to go that far out, I found the below place when looking at Carrick On Shannon.

Carrick On Shannon Bed & Breakfasts - Ireland, The Hartley Lodge Carrick On Shannon Guest House Bed and Breakfast Accommodation
Looks like they have 6 rooms...double or twin I assume
5 Minutes Walk from Town Centre
1 night B&B €35 Per Person, Carrick On Shannon Ireland, Hartley Lodge Bed and Breakfast Accommodation

Option C
Kiltoran Karting then stay in either Kilkenny or Carlow
I wouldn't mind checking this place out, www.Kiltoran.com, it takes about 1 hr 39min to go from Dublin to Kilkenny, the track is the Waterford side of the town so you could then either stay in Carlow or Kilkenny afterwards.

Kilkenny
http://www.bregaghhouse.com/
Welcome to Lawlor's Bar and Guesthouse*** (Oc tav.ed will like this one )
http://www.kilkennytourism.ie/accomm...ils.aspx?id=76

Carlow
Bed and Breakfast Carlow Guesthouse Ireland

Obviously all of above subject to availability.
Btw any of these GP style events will require a booking deposit...around 50%. Also if someone wants to go for the day part and not stay the night theres no problem.

I am in favour of Option C, I put the others down as options as I was looking at the different possibilities.

Probably try and schedule for Sat 9th Dec. If we don't get numbers for GP it'll probably be an arrive and drive...or just go on beer.

From what I gather it would cost approx. 45 Euro for room (probably sharing) and 45 Euro for GP...then food & beer.

To make this happen though we need to make double figures with those going. I have emailed Kiltoran for availability.

Kiltoran Karting looks pretty kool....Agreed the Ramada Hotel is in Drumshanbo which doesn't exactly have a thriving nightlife! Carrick-on-Shannon on the otherhand is very lively with Cartown night club about a 5min taxi drive outside the town but I'm liking the look of Kiltoran track!

Unfortunately we ain't there yet...Hopefully we get the numbers to make this happen. If we got a minimum of 10 it would be a good start. I sent some texts out so hopefully a few more get back.

I must say the Kilkenny idea is really growing on me.

Cool......with that news maybe a few more might decide to come.

Guys if we don't get at least 10 then it ain't worth karting imho.

Btw The later its left the less chance we'll get the spots and I ain't forking out deposits unless I have definites (not being smart...just realistic ).
