| Razor is that the one that Mark had ? I'd be interested in prices (is there a monthly fee ?). As Joe says the big problem with the RS is its a sleeper. @ Razor does your mum have a vRS ?

| was interested in one before until found out about no gard cars having the equipment to track them or getting a discount!!.....spoke to the gards next door last night about this and they say yeh you can track your own car if its stolen but who's gonna go and get it for you as the gards wont!.....having watched a track as it happends its not very easy to find the car as you dont get an exact position just a direction and an esimate distance.....that is unless theyve changed and become better now!! as for kicking your door down......each to their own as somebody is always going to know somebody who knows somebody who it happend to!.....the 4 gards next door dont know of any unless it was a brand new car or a one off.....such as the M5 mentioned above!!.....put a security post in the drive and deadlocks on your house doors and a panic alarm by your bed!!.......or just leave car unlocked!! ![]() k ![]() |

| Kit the Gards will go after cars that are stolen if they are tracked once its by a Nsai Approved Control room and installer and the Car has a completion Cert, they cant track it them self but they are guided by the Control Room to the Car. i know AxA etc dont care if ur car is tracked if its less then 100k i think that is so Stupied but at least u can have ur car recoverd and not take a cash loss. trackers now such as the lommy system are accurate to 15 feet. thats not bad for civilan Gps ur not gona lose ur car in 15ft.

| rob were talking about ireland here.......its very rare that somebody will kick your door in and come upstairs looking for your keys here!....unless you have a very exspensive car!.......razor.....as for the gards going after cars that have a tracker on.....it must depend on the car and which force it is as my landlord is a traffic corp seargent and he says thay wont and so do the 4 traffic cops who live next door to me!......sounds like its a typical irish thing!!.....amnt saying that they deffiniatly dont but just saying what the gards have told me!! k ![]() |

The units in the police cars will then give a directional arrow and a signal strenth and display the unique code for that activation. The latest systems are quite accurate and work a lot better than the older systems. the only drawback is that in built up areas, sometimes the activation code broadcast by the stolen vehicle can 'bounce' off tall buildings, confusing the direction sensor in the police cars. | ||

| A few points on this (I know I'm mainland UK, but bear with me... )I've had trackers fitted to my last two cars. Neither time has there been a flashing LED or even a window sticker to show it's fitted, as apparently if the car's that attractive to thieves, they'll nick it anyway and then rip up the inside of the car to try and find the tracker. I've never been with an insurance company that's offered a discount for either car. Some do, but they seem to be more expensive anyway. I've had them fitted all the same 'cos what they cost is less than what I'd lose in excess if the car was/is stolen. As trackers become more and more common, the trick seems to be to nick the car, then leave it somewhere innocuous like a car park or residential street for a few days to see if it has a tracker and thus gets towed. This is actually quite good news if a tracker is fitted, as it means there's a fair chance that if you find out it's gone within a reasonably short period of time, you'll get it back in a just-nicked condition, rather than ragged to hell... HTH

| Does the tracker be active the whole time...i.e. so I could see its location, but a different activation for theft ?
