Default Secondary Air Pump wanted for my 2K1 Octy L&K 1.8T NOT NEEDED NOW THANKS

The rivets have corroded & have fallen out from my secondary air pump causing my L&K to whine like a vacuum cleaner in a lancaster bomber & jump like a kangaroo on cold startup. Does anyone have a spare one for sale Skoda Part No 078 906 601 M Pieberg Part No. 7.21851.31.0 ?

Think my baby & neighbours would probably enjoy being free from that noise at about 6.00am each day!

Many thanks

Hi,

Have a look at this site - http://uk-mkivs.net/forums/p/141240/940861.aspx

The pumps generally cost topside of 300, so this might be a better option.

Thanks for the Link on secondary air pump repairs
Managed to repair my pump yesterday! Although did not see the link until today... the job took a long time as I could not remove the pump bracket (obscured by climate contol compressor) & one of the "quick release" hoses was very fragile & siezed solid. Spent 2 hours jiggliing the pump & fighting with access to replace all the rivets with M3x40 button head bolts & nylock nuts! Job done though

The car now runs as sweet as a nut with no irregular holding back, flat spots & noise.

Saved myself a fortune & the job only cost a pound for the nuts & bolts from a specialist fastening supplier Oxford Bolt & Bearings. A brand new pump from Skoda is £340 + VAT & £280 from a pierburg supplier

Thanks everyone for looking at this guess this will be quite a common thing in the future.

when you took your pump off, did you notice whether you could replace the 3 rubber mountings or not?

They look like they have a sort of hex bit for screwing them in....

Reason i ask is that one of my mountings has torn in half. Just thinking I'll kill 2 birds with one stone and replace the rivets and bushes/mountings in one go.
