Default Alignment question?

Please help me ive been trying to get to the bottom of this for some time now !I recently had a 4WA done,( not by your selfs) the car's handling is now worse!! (mk1 octy vrs)
I have a print out and it's showing total toe= 0
Im i right in thinking that if i had some toe out it should handle better? I always thought that a wheel under load well tend to toe in anyway.
Factory specs say total toe min= -1.1 max= 1.1 how far should i go with the negitive toe?
Only thing that is not standard are super-pro poly wishbone bushes.
Sorry for all the questions, do you do camber kits so you can change the camber as my is out from one side to other, plus more negitive should have better results.
Many thanks.

Hey,

Yea the top mount camber kits would solve that problem.... We used to use Eibach ones but they wernt the sort of quality we wanted, so at the moment i am sorting out something with KW as they have just mades some new ones that look much better quality.

The toe im sure should be 0 on the front with +/- 0.05 degrees toe each side.
If the camber is out on both sides (too much on left, and not enough on the right) i think it would be because the subframe isnt centered on the car, this will make the car very twichey over uneven roads.

Hope this helps
Luke

Thanks Luke for replying! Yeah i see whiteline sell some top mount camber kits these look pretty good. I'd be interested in the kw ones though when you get them.

Sorry back to the toe question my print out says
left toe = 0.0
Right toe=0.0
Total toe=0.0
So are you saying that left and right should read +/- 0.05 ? Just want to rule this out before i start looking into other areas, and yes car is twitchy over uneven roads!
Maybe when you get the camber mounts in i could pop up and get it sorted out.
Cheers mate!

I have just ordered 2 sets in, so hopefully they should be in very soon

Those toe settings are perfect.
On our system it sais it Should be 0 degrees both sides, but it has a tolorance of +/- 0.05 degrees each way of 0.

Guys - hope you don't mind me hijacking a bit - I'm gonna align the rear axle with some universal camber/toe shims this weekend.
If you had a choice - which would be better rear axle toe:
7 minutes toe-in each side or 14 minutes toe-in? (vRS rear axle should be a total of 26 +/- 10 mins and the regular fabia 20 +/- 10 mins.)

Cheers

Bas

Personally I would say 7 minutes, as i like the back end to be quite loose, but its totally down to how you feel comfterble.

More toe= more stable

Thank you mate - really value you opinion.
Thing is I also like a bit of loose rear tail - my only sporty car about 15 years back was a hopped - up Camaro. That was pretty tail-loose I guess!
As long as I keep a minimal amount of toe-in for the highways I think I would have a good set-up...Cheers

Another hijacking here too

Luke, does anyone offer top mounts that adjust camber for the fabia platform to be used along side the standard McPherson struts?

Cheers

Cool thanks Luke! Perfect settings strange but good, do you think i would gain anything from added some toe out? Will these kits fit my octy and what sort of price are they?
Thanks again mate!
