Default Custom vs OEM map on clutch life

Planning on getting a Jabba custom map in a few months (July) when I've saved up and insurance renewal is due and I have a question regarding torque delivery at the various rpm's.

On the standard map am I right in thinking it develops peak torque at around 1900 rpm (circa 236 ft/lb)? Reason I ask is that if you look at the dyo graph of the custom Jabba map on the website, it appears to develop peak torque at around 2900 rpm IIRC, but at around 1900 rpm it's developing less torque than the standard map.

On this basis, does it mean the custom map is more clutch / DMF friendly than the standard one, as there's less of a dollop of torque at such lowly rpm? Also does it suggest that even the standard map is more than enough to do damage to the OE clutch etc if you abuse it too much at low-ish revs?

Any advice welcome.

Chris.

Yes, with the peak torque appearing higher up the rev range it means that at that higher rpm the car has more momentum so its less strain on the clutch.
My peak torque appears at 3000rpm but still abbliterates my flywheel as you have seen...... 367lbft

Even with the standard map you can kill a clutch if you try hard enough. My genric map was poo and had a very large spike at 1800rpm. hence my standard clutch decided it would rather look like a birds next instead

I think what your after is a car that drives standard but has alot more top end breathing and umph. pd160 pipe and green panel then a re-map from jabba should give you that extra shove when you need/require it

OR just sod it and buy a hybrid and fmic then you get a real machine

LOL.

I'm just wondering though, does the custom map produce less torque than the standard map at 1800 rpm? I'm so used to having all the power in one dollop at under 2k, and it appears the Jabba one provides a more steady surge of power up to 3k.

If I'm sticking with the standard clutch (for now) and DMF then it's something I need to look at.

Ok, managed to find a standard graph....peak torque is indeed at about 1900rpm in a huge dollop as expected.
But it does look like the custom map produces less torque at 1900rpm than the standard map from what I can see....
