Cool I've made a mess! Metal shininess!

Look what arrived today from Jabbasport!!!!

Much metal sexiness! One ported head, and there's also the inlet manifold done to match. Liking this very much. Once I have the race injectors sorted out, this lot should see me over 300bhp.

I'll take that in the complimentary way in which it was intended.

300bhp, DAMN!!

You really must put everyone out of your league and see if you can go for 4WD, there must be someone you can talk to.

I guess you'll need another remap at Allards to achieve 300+, in conjunction with this new head?

I will be giving the car to Allard for a couple of days for them to fit the new head, the injectors, set-up the timing, etc again, and then remap the car to suit the new setup.

I have a feeling once the new map is done on this gear I won't touch this car again in performance terms. Anything I do after this will be aimed at another fabia. There are plans afoot. But I will need to be earning some good money to make it affordable. The idea is to make a road legal 4wd petrol fabia. It will no doubt involve some serious cutting and re-welding of various bits. And most likely a fresh SVA test such is done with kit-cars by the DVLA. All just "thoughts" at the moment but I really want to make them reality. I already have a garage lined up who has told me he is eager to take an angle grinder to the back end of a fabia....

Feck that really looks good....
How much more airflow does this give in theory?
Does this weaken the head at all?
Wonder what more is needed to get up to the 2.1 liter conversion?? Since you're gonna get the engine taken apart again anyway...

really nice one mate!

So is it just ported and polished or has it got bigger values?

Looking good anyhow

You can't mod the valves to my knowledge, so it's just been ported/flowed. The surface has been sand blasted and I think it might have been skimmed as well. Super smooth surface.

Hhmmmm - gas-flowed, polished, ported, shiny, new, a thing of beauty. Even if it never got bolted to an engine I could admire it all day long.

have you got the diff done yet Jason?

not wishing to urinate on anyones parade but surely your going to do a hell of a lot of wheel spinning with 300bhp in a FWD diesel fabia? your struggling with traction a lot with around 250bhp!

The diff is ready in the new 6 speed. Just waiting on the time to have the car off the road for a week or so to do the gearbxo swap, and a few other bits.

Traction will be an issue, but at the moment I cannot spin 3rd gear in the dry so it would be nice to have the extra poke in that gear, as well as the other 3 too.

Once I reach 300 I reckon I will sit-back and just keep it in that form. Start saving money for other mods to another car then.
