Default Results from a day at Jabba

First of all big thanks to Jabba

Back in September at the Marlin RR day my car was running Revo Stage 2 and made a poor 209bhp 248 Lbs/Ft

I decided maybe IHI conversion would help(Maybe later this year) but thought better to do it in stages.
FMIC
Clutch
Suspension....and so on

So I booked into Jabba for the Pro Alloy FMIC & Custom map.

After spending the whole day at Jabba the car made 247bhp.

I wanted to compare the result with a before and after but my ECU needed to have the Revo software removed first so it I could not have this done.

I was given the dyno printout by Nick at 5pm and told to take the car for a drive and see what I thought.............well straight away the car felt like the time you have the first map doing, more aggressive and pulled hareder throught the revs.

I got back home and decided (today) to have a dyno run back at Marlin as most of the results on the RR day were true and I had the base figur of 209 from September.

I arrived at Marlin and within 10 mins the car was waiting on the rollers with the engine running (Fans NOT on) the car ran 238bhp and 236 Lbs/Ft with the intake temp at 45 deg(5th gear)

A second run was done in 4th gear (for boost reading) with the intake temps now 65 deg and the car made 237bhp

As I have alwasy thought those fans can't really replicate the true air flow of the open road but I'm very happy with the results!

So to sum up the car made 29 bhp more than it did running Stage 2 Revo (Torque is a little lower though) and the boost is even lower 1.23 peak

Once again thanks to all at jabba for a job well done

You will see me again

Interesting that you note that torque is now lower than Stage II REVO - Torque is really what you want to be interested in and not headline HP.

It's also about how it drives and not just the peak figures. Torque through the range is better than just a little blip.

very true, but ~237 is within the realms of what the people that make the turbo rate it for. 247 isn't

would lower torque but higher power imply that it's holding that (albeit lower) torque longer? if so, that sounds better

I don't know what fan/airflow set up Jabba run but I can live with the small difference.

As we all know every RR will give different readings but at least it's not 50bhp out like some others quote

The torque is now peak just after 3000 revs and stays the same to almost 6000 revs

With the Revo I was peak 3000 but starting to fall from 4000

Peak power just goes all the way with Jabba and was almst flat at 5000 revs compaired to Revo.

The car drives and feels MUCH better now and that's all that matters to me

have you looked at the graph? the K03 turbo simply cannot sustain peak torque to 6000rpm unless it is running standard figures, even then it tails off at maybe 5000rpm.

here is my graph from jabba after they fitted the proallor fmic, remap and it also had samco TIP and cai:

and here is my graph as done in vag-com of the same setup + turbo back exhaust with sports cat.

torque

power

I will post the graph from MARLIN which shows both my Revo & Jabba figures

I'm only stating what another RR has shown!

Like I said the car is MUCH better than it was and I'm happy so that's what matters?

Bengie

Sorry mate you've lost me now

Fezboy's write up to me seems more positive than negative....or am I reading it wrong

I think some of the comments that people have posted on here about the inaccuracy of Jabba's RR have been proven to be over exaggerated

Your Jabba RR power/torque graph looks absolute sh*te compared to mine and I think goes a long way to explaining why your car was out performed by a WRX

I'm sorry I cant post my graph (no really...... my computor just crashes) but if you pm me your mobile No, I can send you a pic of my graph which you can post if you wish

No problems before with the Revo and no problems now

Here is the graph (rubbish camera phone sorry)

The darker lines are Jabba & lighter lines were before with revo stage 2 in september.

the broken turbo goes further in explaining why his car was out performed by a WRX

Default Re: Results from a day at Jabba

as he said my turbo was poorly and my engine had done maybe 120K miles but i still don't think it would have kept up being 100% healthy as they do go very well.

here is the damage to my turbo:

why i referred to you early 180 was he got the same results as you at jabba that a few of us said was out of the realistic range of the standard turbo and he went on another RR straight after and got around 10bhp less bringing it back into the limits just about of what is a realistic power of that turbo.

my vag-com graph looks more like fezboys jabba graph but that was a jabba "custom" map along with the already stated mods fitted by them.

I can't wait to get my car back on the road, sadly i am still waiting on some parts for it before passing it onto my chief mechanic

the cars getting a new(to me) engine that has only 40k on so a third of my current engine!! the turbo rebuilt(hopefully with a BB core) and then maybe a re-re-remap as i am not 100% about the current setup as its running a manual boost controller instead of the N75 valve which i think is a bit OTT.

be nice to get it on a RR to see what its really capable of as the last time it was on a RR at JKM it started to burn oil and the AFR went all to c0ck during the run when it was about to peak torque wise so still made about 280lbft but due to the torque falling rapidly(thanks oil ) it only made 240bhp
