faults found on mk1 octavia vrs?????

Hi there i was wondering if you could shed any light on these fault codes which came up today and should i book it in for you guys to have a look at.been told you guys are the best to ask because you know alot about 1.8t engines.

fault 1- 16502 engine coolant temp sensor- signal to high

fault 2- 17834 EVAP purge valve- open circuit

fault 3- 16727 camshaft position sensor- signal to high

i also recently had a cambelt change

Hi,

We would suggest you check all of the mutli plugs connections around the bulk head area to ensure these havent become loose, if all appears ok your best bet is to get it booked in for us to check over and we can advise from there.

You may as well get it REVO'd at the same time, would save coming back again

Our hourly labour rate is £50 plus VAT, we will start with an hours diagnosics, if all is ok and faults can be resolved during this time then great if not then we will let you know how much longer we might need and you can go from there, (unless its a real nightmare)we can normally detect the cause of most faults in the hour, we will then let you know If parts are required to fix the fault and what the costings are before we proceed.

If you buy the dump valve through us fitting is free of charge if not then its just £12.50 plus VAT.

cheers for your help and quick reply. ill give you a ring in the next few days to sort out booking it in. we did reset the fault codes then took it for a spin and they didnt come back.

an update on my car, on the way home from work tonight the engine management light came on so i would like to book my car is asap for your diagnosics and fingers crossed it doesnt cost me an arm and a leg.

will it be ok driving with the engine management light on as i live about 40miles from yourself?

and do you keep the forge 007 dv in stock as depending on money might get it fitted at the same time?

Hi Andy,

Its immpossible to say weather the car is OK to drive or not - if the engine management light is on we always advise customers to drive the car as least as possible to avoid the possibitity of damage to the car.

Yes we keep the 007p valves in stock,

This week the workshop is full for bookings, the earliest we can get the car in is Week begining Monday 10th March, we ask that all diagnostics work is left with us for the day so it is adviseable if you could leave the car with us if in order for us to find the fault and fix as we may have to wait dor parts etc however I see you mentioned that you are a few miles away?

thanks again for your reply, one of the lads is gonna plug my car in again today but will still book it in for nxt week cos rather be on the same side and al least have the dv fitted. any day nxt week is fine.
