Re: Price reductions on Superchips Bluefin's and software Ordered my bluefin last week and it was delivered this week on tuesday. That is one week for delivery to Germany!
Sent my original motordata online to Superchips and they replied within 2 hours.
Must say though, that my RS TDI is limping a bit after the 28E1 motorupdate they did at the 60000km service (the car will go back to the dealer next week, off course with the original motorsoftware. Thanks to bluefin). At the moment it doesnt reach its topspeed.
Installed the new motordata from SC and went for a little test.
The engine has still a bit of a flatspot between 38-41 as before the SC, but it doesnt bother anymore . Inspite of this flatspot the enginepower will run past it. Before the SC it got stuck there. (only slipstreaming or downhill could make the car go past the 4000 mark).
I am blaming the airmassmeter (LMM in German), had this already and it had the same symptoms then (flatspot). Hope they will change it, so that the engine will turn its 4250 again (in 6th with original enginesoftware).
But now for the first experiences with the SC software.
Tested acceleration before, with wintertires (205/55 16) and my sommerwheels (225/40 18 on 8x18 ET44).
To make the test reproducable I only tested in 6th gear from 120km/h on.
120-140 4.4s (16") and 4.8s (18")
140-160 5.8s (16") and 6.8s (18")
160-180 6.8s (16") and 8.9s (18")
180-200 10.0s (16") and 11.9s (18")
All approx times run in 2 directions.
Times of today with the SC
120-140 4.2s
140-160 5.0s
160-180 5.9s
180-200 7.2s
200-220 16.0s
Couldnt reach 220 on my little piece of autobahn (approx 4 km) with the original software.
Also did the car do its 4250 on a relative short straight, unfortunately traffic is building up (almost weekend) and it was getting too dangerous to do topspeed runs.
In 6th with the original software, the engine would use 17.0 liter to 100km on full throttle.
With the SC it uses around 19.0 liter to 100km. (extra horses need extra food )
Good thing is, cruising at 120-130 km/h will show up to 1 liter less than before.
Up to now (after the first 150km) I am more than satisfied with the product. And I am extremely satisfied with the job Kate and Keith did. This is the way to treat costumers and I will stay costumer for the future!
(a second bluefin will be ordered soon, I am pretty confident about that)
Thanks to Kate and Keith from a satisfied costumer aus Deutschland
