Car: Silver Octavia (200 +? BHP) | Project K04 Guys and Galls, thank you very much. Finding it hard to describe whats happened to the engine, AWESOME.Still ear to ear smiling as i type this.
Keith, do you do a seat belt upgrade to go with the big brake upgrade, windscreen seems to be getting rather close when braking heavily.
Thanks again, speak soon

| Re: Project K04 Hi Si/Keith,
I did post briefly on the other thread in MK2 octavia but my query was with the power and torque figures produced for the K04 turbo on the VRS.
Cars running the standard turbo have achieved 350lb/ft of torque at JKM http://www.jkm.org.uk/performance/Mi...s/OCT23VRS.gif
WHat is the expected final figures for the custom K04 setup. Really interested in this upgrade later on, hence the questions.
Thanks,
Lee

Car: Silver Mondeo (170bhp) | Re: Project K04 Lee, really think we should wait for the map to be tweaked by Revo before we start querying figures etc. Indeed this is one instance I think where the shape of the curves will be the most impressive feature here, rather than out and out figures.
I too eagerly await some plots etc, and prices...

Car: Silver Octavia (200 +? BHP) | Re: Project K04 Very right Tom, said before the power delivery is awesome, trust me when i say this that it is more driveable than Stg 1, dont know what stage 2 was like to drive.
Stg 1 delivery comes in one hit then drops away.

| Re: Project K04 OK, cheers guys, only asking out of pure interest - I have no doubt that the bigger turbo will be less spikey and able to hold the peak torque figures longer and peak the power higher up the rev range but the actual figures just looked a little flat in comparison. I guess figures only tell half the story anyway and I'll be watching the progress with great interest.

Totally agree Tom, as I just said to Sibart on PM - the K04 would probably appear a lot 'fuller' all the way through and less aestmatic at the top end, Im was just really interested to know if there were already final figures expected by JKM.
I'll follow this with great interest.

Car: Various! () | Re: Project K04 Hi guys, I have just seen this thread and I thought that I had best post a reply with some information update for you guys. We are very happy with the performance from Sibart’s car on the K04 turbo and additional hardware, sounds like he is as well As Sibart has already mentioned, the REVO code that he is running is a BETA version and therefore it is not in its final state of tune. We adjusted the basic code settings to a level that we where happy with, but REVO want the car for final mapping and setup. There are a few cars that are running with the BETA K04/S3 Injector code but I believe that the other ones in the UK are non road going race cars (I could be wrong here though). The 285bhp and 350Ft/Lb that Makefish made at the JKM dyno day, was on a BETA code for REVO stage 2+ and I think that Steve had the settings adjusted to be very high as well. Once the REVO tuners came down to develop the code more for stage2+, the torque figures where reduced to around 310-315Ft/Lb and the end power was repeatedly coming out at around 279BHP. The 350Ft/Lb figure came from very high boost (a level that the final code is not running) and the 285 BHP came from a variant in Air Fuel ratio. One of the later dyno runs from the last setup on Revo stage2+ is shown at the link here, this is more like what can be expected from a stage2+ car: http://www.jkm.org.uk/performance/Mi...e2plus_big.gif With regards to prices on K04 conversions etc….I have uploaded information and prices for drive in / drive out conversions on our website here: http://www.jkm.org.uk/performance/jkmtfsi-K04-upgrade.htm Currently I believe that the required REVO software tuner is in Japan, but once he is back we will be arranging for final setup and development of Sibart’s car as we know that there is more in it. Watch this space Kind Regards Keith

Car: Silver Mondeo (170bhp) | Re: Project K04 Thanks for that Keith!
Is a Milltek (or equivalent) exhaust absolutely essential for this K04 upgrade? Can this setup utilise a Forge diverter valve? Is the fuel pump upgrade needed too?
Many thanks
PS that "before" graph looks familiar!!
EDIT - should have read the full info on the site first
Still curious about the DV though And how much will the exhaust influence the power/torque of the K04 setup...? I love the look of the standard exhaust and the Milltek is a lot of wedge...

Car: Various! () | Re: Project K04 You could in theory leave the stock exhaust on the car and fit the larger K04
For maximum performance I would advise a turbo back exhaust to go with the larger turbo though.
On Sibart’s car we are using a stock DV, relocated to the front of the engine bay away from the hot compressor housing. We are prepared to give the stock valve a ‘trial’ under remapped conditions. I am hopeful that this new position will be much more favourable for reliability.
The ‘stock’ graph is a nice example of a totally standard car on the Dyno

I must say you guys have really impressed me with your knowledge on the 2.0T and the packages you've put together.
Hopefully in the future I will popping down (from York!) for a few goodies

You wont go wrong with dealing with the JKM team(Kate + Claire) included.
You get no BS and all they want to do is improve your car, not just empty your wallet

However, with the vRS available at about £16k brand new, and the S3 £27k... £5k for the upgrade seems good value!

Personally anyway, I'd rather have the low down grunt that comes from a smaller, less laggy turbo. True enough, they wont produce the power higher up the rev range like a bigger turbo would but sitting in traffic for 50+% of the daily commute means I'd rather have diesel like characteristics but with the added revs when required.
Each to their own however.
