..... how much for a cambelt and water pump change please on a 2003 Octavia VRS?

Also, how much to replace the reverse switch on the gearbox. Mine is on its way out

Those who followed my thread a couple weeks ago will be aware that I paid exactly 2 X this quote for W/P and cambelt change. Boy was I %$%^&% ripped off.

Take the quote mate - I wish I had shopped around, but unfortunately, mine broke down and had to be done on the spur of the moment.

Just a couple of questions about the qoutes.....

...... is the water pump a metal impeller pump?

...... regarding the reverse light switch... I hope this cures my annoying flickering reverse lights. I have heard that it can also be the wires at the switch too. I may as well get you to change the switch seeing it is only a few quid, but if the wires are broken can you sort this at the same time?

.... oh, and any chance you can sort out my annoying starter motor without a full replacement (it screams out loud for a second or two on cold mornings!)

Hi Geoff,

The waterpump is a genuine pump with the standard impeller. You can have a metal one if you would prefer (price is the same) - we havent had an issue with the genuine ones in all the years we have been fitting them but I know some forum members have so the choice is yours - just lets us know which you would prefer to be fitted.

Yes not a problem re the wiring, we will check this out before fitting the switch and confirm what is wrong first, likewise on the starter we will have a look and see what we can do.
