Colour repair kit.

Anyone used it before? I need to cover a couple of scratches at the door's tip. I got the kit, two bottles, one colour coded, the other plain white (!?).

Any ideas on how it's applied? Thanks in advance

I'll assume that the white one is clear laquer.

I've found its best not to use the brush that comes with the touch up kit.
Better to buy a very fine modeling brush or use a tool with a sharp pointed end to fill in stone chips etc.

Your'e supposed to apply the laquer afterwards, but I was told you can mix them first (by a guy from Dent Devils) and then apply it if you want to.

I've tried using the touch-up paint. Somebody very kindly scratched my Black metallic paint along the front offside wing. I've applied the paint as thin as possible and then applied the lacquer (white bottle) but it is very thick and doesn't go on very well. Has anybody used these paints and got a good result from them?

I have used these paints for stone chips and such, and have found that although the paint seems thin, I get best results without using the laquer. So I just touch up the paint and let it harden, and leave the laquer alone.

Anyone know whats best for those really fine scratches that come about from being forced into hedges whilst going down narrow Devon lanes? You can't really see them unless you look really close, or the sun catches them at an angle. I've tried liquid diamond, but I think thats more of a preventative, than a cure... Whats the best place for the cheapest alternative to dealer prices for bottles of touch-up? I may need one soon too. Plus, has anyone else noticed little tiny black spots of something tar-like getting stuck to your car? I've got loads of them and I can only assume they come from going over brand newly laid roads, or something. Its so tough I need to use white spirit to get them off.

Yes, I've since tried using the clear topcoat and its far too thick!
It seems to start drying before you can apply the stuff - not good.

Like Kentish, I 've just used the base coat for now until I can find a way of thinning the clear topcoat.

As for those fine scratces you get, I find they will usually polish out with some T cut etc..

I've always been a little cautious about T-cut, as it removes, as opposed to adding a layer of paint. But, if you guys reckon its the best, or that the risk to the overall paintwork is miniscule - I'll try it. Cheers the langka link - I'll take a look now

Not used it myself, but it is mentioned alot on BMW and Mercedes owners forums.

Brasso is very good for getting rid of scratches. I use it in preference to T Cut since it less abrasive.
