Default Door Closing

I know I've raised this before but my previous thread seemed to go off at a bit of a tangent - so I'm trying again.
I've always suspected that the doors on my RS do not close as easily as they should - sometimes it can take 2 or 3 attempts to close the door - and then they seem to 'clang' shut.
However a week or so ago a colleague of mine bought a new Octavia Elegance. After taking a look around his new car I couldn't help but notice how 'sweetly' his doors closed. - just like the old Hondas I used to own.
At my two previous services when I have raised the question of the doors the Service manger has been very reluctant to alter the doors in any way - seeming to suggest that it can cause more problems than it solves.
Has anyone out there had their doors adjusted successfully? - I'd be very pleased to hear.
Thanks,
Rob

If its under warranty, you should maybe push the point a bit harder with your dealer?

On my fab, one of the rear doors is just slightly harder to close than the other doors, although its barely noticeable...

My doors close like an Audis.

My Impreza (classic) doors closed like a biscuit tin lid that's got slightly twisted and has a loose handle that rattles. It did go a bit though.

My driver's door is awful for that with the window down (either partially or fully). But the passenger door closes perfectly.

I also think the window auto-close is trying just a bit too hard on the driver's side. Will have them checked at next service (may be related - something loose?)

Passenger side Clangs too! Re the auto-close - does it "squeek" sometimes when it gets to the top - like the rubber is being pushed hard against the door? Mine does that too!!

sorry, no similar problems as yours.

my RS doors closed with the proverbial 'satisfying clunk'.

if you're not happy, i would demonstrate the problem to your service chap against one of his cars.

Rob

Talk a walk around the showroom, try all the car doors you can, then speak to the service manager and say that you want yours to close properly like the showroom cars do. For the record, I have no problems with the doors on my 2002 Octavia.

Not a squeek. There's a satisfying "whump" sound as the window hits home, but after a few seconds delay there's another noise as if the controller is trying the window again. This can happen 3 or 4 times, but never on any of the other doors.
